2024 Amity Vineyards Pinot Blanc
Eola-Amity AVA · 100% Pinot Blanc · 750mL
Tasting Notes Canvas, Apricot, Wheatgrass
Grown from some of the original vines established by Amity founder Myron Redford, this Pinot Blanc is as rooted in the estate's history as any wine we make. Harvested by hand on October 3rd, the fruit was whole-cluster pressed and fermented slowly in stainless steel over three to four weeks. Malolactic fermentation was prevented to preserve natural acidity, followed by four months on the lees to build body and complexity. The result is a wine of quiet depth, with apricot fruit layered with herbal and earthy notes of canvas and wheatgrass.
The 2024 season opened with a mid-January ice storm that blanketed the Willamette Valley for the better part of a week. Cool temperatures followed through bud break in the third week of April before warming through spring pushed steady canopy development. Summer brought a handful of rain events reminiscent of older Oregon weather patterns, though dry and warm conditions surrounding each shower kept disease pressure minimal. September and October delivered moderate temperatures and limited rainfall, setting up a comfortable, measured harvest of pristine, ripe fruit.
Pairing and Serving Pairs well with seafood, roasted chicken, soft cheeses, and spring vegetable dishes. Serve chilled at 45 to 50 degrees F in a white wine glass. Drink now through 2027.
