Tasting Notes Blackberry, Tarragon, Cedar

90 Points, Best Buy · James Suckling

Kings Ridge Pinot Noir captures the vibrant complexity of Oregon's Willamette Valley with a compelling blend of dark and red fruits, intriguing barrel spice, and fresh acidity. Sourced exclusively from estate and long-term partner vineyards, this focused and aromatic wine showcases the region's cool-climate terroir.

Given the warmer 2023 vintage, more than half of this blend comes from the cooler parts of the Valley, namely the Eola-Amity Hills and the Van Duzer Corridor, both shaped by cooling winds off the Pacific. Fruit was harvested September 14 through October 5, fermented in tank, and aged in a combination of neutral and new French oak for a balanced and approachable result.

The 2023 season delivered a warm, dry summer after a slow start, leading to a surprisingly early and compressed harvest with all fruit in the door by mid-October.

Pairing and Serving Pairs well with roasted chicken, salmon, mushroom dishes, and charcuterie. Serve at 55 to 60 degrees F. Drink now through 2028.
