This eight-acre, south-facing vineyard is planted in ancient marine sediment soils and farmed dry and own-rooted, producing naturally low yields and small berries with powerful tannins, concentration, and a brilliant backbone of acidity. A blend of 115, Pommard, and Wadenswil clones, each contributing their own character to the final wine. Each year we select only our favorite barrels from Bass Hill to produce this vineyard designate, and this 2018 is one of the best.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"\u003eThe 2018 season delivered a generous picking window after a warm summer with cool nights that preserved acidity and complexity.
